Global Conflict Tracker
Country conflict status updated using the GDELT Project (90-day news density) cross-referenced with UCDP (Uppsala Conflict Data Program) academic conflict data. Current conflict means UCDP-ongoing conflicts, plus activity in last 365 calendar days. Countries in current conflict are highlighted as Conflict. Others are classified by score into Tension or Peace.

Methodology
Each country receives a composite score (0–100) combining: GDELT news event density over 90 days (up to 60 pts, log-normalised), UCDP minor conflict confirmation (+15 pts), and UCDP war-intensity confirmation (+20 pts). Conflict highlights and active-conflict counts include UCDP-ongoing conflicts and recent activity (last 365 calendar days).
GDELT monitors global news media in real time. UCDP (Uppsala University) is the world's main provider of organised-violence data, updated annually. Data cached and refreshed every 6 hours.
Limitations: GDELT reflects media coverage intensity, not confirmed casualty counts. Scores near thresholds may shift. Use for orientation, not operational decisions.
